MAGISTRAL FORMULAE

In Pharmacy Campoamor we make magistral formulae and officinal formulae for customers in-person who would like to request it.

WAHT ARE MAGISTRAL FORMULAE AND OFFICINAL FORMULAE

According to the "Medicines Law" (Law 29/2006, of July 26th, on the guarantees and rational use of medicines and healthcareproducts), a magistral formula is: "the medicine for a given patient, prepared by a pharmacist or under his/her direction, specifically according to a detailed medical prescription of the included active ingredients under the rules of proper preparation and quality control established for that purpose, dispensed in pharmacy or pharmaceutical service and with proper information to the user on the terms provided in Article 42.5."

According to the same Law an officinal formula is: "the medicine made under the rules of proper preparation and quality control established for that purpose, and guaranteed by a pharmacist or under his/her direction, dispensed in pharmacy or pharmaceutical service, enumerated and described by the National Formulary, intended for direct delivery to those patients served by the pharmacy or pharmaceutical service."

MAGISTRAL FORMULA IN PHARMACY CAMPOAMOR

Types of magistral formulae which may be requested at our pharmacy:

SOLID DOSAGE FORMS OF ORAL ADMINISTRATION: Tablets, sachets, gelatin capsules (soft, hard, gastroresistant and of prolonged action), and powders.

LIQUID DOSAGE FORMS: Syrups, suspensions, true solutions, and colloids.

SEMISOLID DOSAGE FORMS: Ointments, fat-based pastes and water-based pastes.

EMULSIONS: Bases and emulsifiers.

GELS, GEL CREAMS AND COLLODION FOAM OVULES: Ovules of promestriene 10 mg, ovules of essential oils.

DOSAGE FORMs OF RECTAL ADMINISTRATION: Suppositories and enemas.

MAGISTRAL FORMULA OF PHYTOTHERAPY: Capsules, creams, gels, syrups, powders, ointments, hydroalcoholic solutions, oily solutions.

Pharmacy Campoamor meets the current legislation regarding service of magistral formula, ensuring standards of proper elaboration and quality control of magistral formulae and officinal formulae which are established by current legislation.

Pharmacy Campoamor does not allow the distance sale of magistal formulae or officinal formulae.
